     When I was ten, my parents’ chiropractor told me that I had “exquisite posture”. I was delighted because, while I liked to visit the office with my parents, I never wanted to be adjusted myself. Fast-forward seventeen years and my perfect posture is no more. Instead I have daily, excruciating headaches, painfully tight neck and shoulder muscles, and the beginning of what my boyfriend lovingly calls a “hump”. Fortunately, fate (in the form of a networking group) led me to Dr. Danny. He patiently explained everything and crafted a treatment plan for me. His knowledge and gentle method allowed me to understand what he was doing and why, without feeling pressured into anything.  Now, a few months into my treatment, I can proudly report that my headaches are few and far between, my neck and shoulders are loose and relaxed, and my hump has all but disappeared. I may never completely regain the “exquisite posture” of age ten, but I am on my way, thanks to Dr. Danny and Whole Health.

     The funny thing about back pain is how you adjust to it and live with it. My back hurt for 15 years and I just adapted. I couldn’t turn my neck at all. I had to turn my whole body, even in the car to see sideways and behind me.  I tried everything from massage to acupuncture which was great and certainly helped; in fact, it was my acupuncturist who suggested I see a chiropractor for a little snap. That is when Dr. Govenar asked, if instead of relieving the symptoms, how would I like to fix my back? He reversed the damage and the curvature while educating me on what was happening and how to live a pain-free life.  My pain was severe but the relief was immediate. It is a commitment and a lot of time but Whole Health is an excellent place to do this work. I look forward to coming here and everyone is so nice and accommodating. I know Dr. Govenar is as committed to my recovery as I am. It is great to have someone on your side in such an important process.
